Avatar 2 announces filming in late 2019 with BTS photo!
It went a long way in James Cameron's sequels to his box office, smashing the sci-fi success Avatar and the official Twitter page of the movie shared exciting news for today's fans that live action filming following is over! The page also commemorated the occasion with a behind-the-scenes look at a new ensemble titled Sea Dragon, a "massive mothership that carries a number of other maritime vessels in sequence". The cast of the Avatar franchise includes Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement and Oona Chaplin alongside a host of young actors. Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver.
Cameron recently explained that Stephen Lang's Colonel Miles Quaritch will return in all four sequences and will be the main villain throughout history. Filming officially started on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 on September 25, 2017.

Following some schedule changes, Avatar 2 was postponed for a full year from December 18, 2020 to December 17, 2021. Avatar 3 was postponed for two years from December 17, 2021 to December 22, 2023. Avatar 4 will open two years later on December 19, 2025 (originally December 20, 2024) and Avatar 5 will fall on December 17, 2027 (originally December 19, 2025). Although Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are only released with director James Cameron's caveat that Avatar 2 and 3 are box office successes.
