Birds of Prey's soundtrack includes a plethora of female artists
Get ready because the girls will rule Gotham in February. Some hours later the second trailer came to the web the employee Birds of prey Soundtrack has been released. The tracklist includes 15 songs played by artists such as Lauren Jauregui, Halsey, Whipped Cream and many other artists. Interestingly, the credits also include Jurnee Smollett-Bell, who plays Black Canary in the next movie, with a cover of "It's a Man's World." Margot Robbie will reprise her role in Harley Quinn's Suicide Squad in the film, which will also star Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Ewan McGregor as Villain Black Mask, Chris Messina as Victor. Zsasz and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. Ali Wong (Fresh Off the Boat), Robert Catrini (American Crime Story), Steven Williams (IT) and Derek Wilson (Preacher) complete the cast.
Cathy Yan (Dead pigs) will direct the spin-off, making her the first Asian director to direct a superhero movie. The script was written by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee).

At the DC Comics, Birds of Prey is a female superhero team including Oracle / Batgirl, Black Canary, Huntress, Catwoman, Hawkwoman, Power Girl, Poison Ivy, Vixen and Katana, which was played by Karen Fukuhara Suicide squad. A short live action TV series titled Birds of Prey aired on The WB from 2002 to 2003 for 13 episodes, starring Ashley Scott as Huntress, Dina Meyer as Barbara Gordon / Oracle, Ian Abercrombie as Alfred Pennyworth and Mia. Sara as Harley Quinn.
Birds of Prey (and the Fantasticous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is slated for theatrical release on February 7, 2020.
