Charmed Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

In the previous episode of CW's CharmedParker asked Maggie to marry him, and Abigael lied about stealing the apples from the Sacred Grove to Godric. In episode 8 of Charmed's second season, Maggie considered Parker's proposal to force peace between witches and demons, but Mel didn't trust Parker.

Energy Partnership

When Parker proposed, Maggie declined. She was only twenty-one, and Parker was the Overlord. Maggie stormed through a portal and entered the command center, where Harry was healing Layla. She and a group of witches decided to patrol the magical communities to protect them, but the demons attacked and kidnapped their fellow witches. Maggie decided to marry Parker because she believed their union would prevent demon attacks on witches and magical creatures. The Oath in demonic tradition demanded that forged peace be forged among family members.

When Maggie returned to Parker, she asked him to release the witches.

Charmed Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

Mel didn't trust Parker, so they found a spell in the Book of Elders to turn her into a fly to spy on him. They realized it was a curse, not a spell, and the only way she could turn back was self-reflection. In Parker's office Godric brought the apples and confessed that he, not Abigael, had attacked the Sacred Grove. Godric threw Mel to the ground, and his self-reflection was acceptance of his situation. She shifted back and told Maggie. Unfortunately, Maggie was upset to learn that Mel didn't trust her judgment. Maggie told her to leave.

Parker actually ate an apple from the Sacred Grove, and more than one made him manic and power-hungry. Maggie canceled the marriage, but he wanted to force her to marry him. She motioned to Macy and Harry, who turned on the emergency sprinklers, and they returned to the command center.

The curse

Charmed Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

While in the command center, Mel discovered a root containing dark amber, such as Jordan's ring. They believed that the tree that was the source of their power could be there. Amber helped Maggie see more of Jordan's premonition. It was Parker who would kill him. He used his powers to read Maggie's mind and learn about SafeSpace and Jordan. They were stopping him and Mel's powers increased to the ability to literally freeze. It was Abigael who stabbed Parker with a magic dagger. Because apples made him immune to magic, Harry couldn't cure him.

The New Sovereign

Abigael had conspired with Godric to lead Maggie to kill Parker to strengthen the division between witches and demons. Although the sisters believed Parker had died, Abigael secretly saved him and kept him alive. The demonic world believed that the Enchanted had killed Parker, and Abigael used him to ascend as the new Overlord.

Throughout the episode, Macy denied having feelings for Harry, although she was intrigued by his darkest. However, it hurt her to find Harry and Abigael kissing in the command center.
