Developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts, the original Crysis was released in 2007 on the PC, before landing on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was followed by Crysis 2 in 2011 and Crysis 3 in 2013.
Crytek's groundbreaking first-person shooter, critically acclaimed, is based on a future in which a huge ancient alien structure was discovered buried within a mountain in the fictional Lingshan Islands, off the eastern coast of the Philippines. The single player campaign makes the player take on the role of US Army Delta Force soldier Jake Dunn, referred to in the game by his call sign, Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, mainly a "Nanosuit" that was inspired by the military concept of the real life of Future Force Warrior. In Crysis, the player fights against North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies in various environments and around the island.
