Disney Home Alone Launches Jojo Rabbit Archie Yates, Kemper and Delaney
Deadline broke the news that the upcoming reboot of Disney + Home Alone has begun to build its cast with the additions of Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates, unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Ellie Kemper, and Catastrophe's Rob Delaney.

Although no plot details have been given for the film, with Disney CEO Bob Iger previously describing it as "reimagined for a new generation", the film is being directed by Dan Mazer of Dirty Grandpa and scripted. by Mikey Day (Brittany Runs Marathon) and Streeter Seidell (CollegeHumor). The reboot will be produced by Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson.
The Home Alone franchise began with the 1990 original starring Macaulay Culkin, which became that year's highest grossing film, grossing $ 476.6 million worldwide (equivalent to $ 934 million in 2019). Directed by Chris Columbus and conceived by John Hughes, the film became a franchise with five films in total, only two of which starred Culkin. The last entry was Home Alone: The Holiday Heist in 2012, which debuted on television.

The update comes with a number of restarts currently under development for the streaming service, including Night at the Museum, Wimpy Kid's Diary, and Cheaper by the Dozen. In addition to Home Alone, Day and Seidell are also linked to Inspector Gadget's next reboot for House of Mouse.
