Disney's Mulan release date changes yet again
Walt Disney Pictures once again changed Mulan's release date for his long-awaited live-action adaptation. Originally scheduled for March 27 and July 24, the film will open on August 21, where Lionsgate horror movie Antebellum and drama Focus Features, Let Him Go are currently scheduled. This is also the same date that Disney + streaming platform will launch the animated film The One and Only Ivan.

Mulan features a celebrated international cast led by Liu Yifei (The Forbidden Kingdom, Once Upon a Time) was chosen as Hua Mulan after a year-long global cast search. Joining her are Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as commander Tung; Jason Scott Lee (crouching tiger, hidden dragon: sword of destiny) as Böri Khan; Yoson An (The Meg) as Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li (Memoirs of a Geisha, Raise the Red Lantern) as Xianniang and Jet Li (Shaolin Temple, Lethal Weapon 4) as Emperor.

The film is directed by Niki Caro, based on a screenplay by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, based on the narrative poem "The Ballad of Mulan".
Mulan hits theaters on August 21, 2020.
