As DOOM Slayer, you will return to take revenge on the forces of hell. Defined as a whole new soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, you'll fight in various dimensions as you kill new and classic demons with powerful new weapons and skills.
With twice as many demons being introduced following its predecessor, there will be new types of enemies, including The Marauder and Doom Hunter, as well as presenting the returns of previous enemies of the Pain Elemental franchise, Arachnotron and Archville.
The new installment will also feature a new system called "Destructible Demons" in which the bodies of enemies progressively deteriorate and are destroyed in combat as they are damaged. Expanding the arcade feel of the 2016 reboot, a new life system will allow players to collect 1-up items that resemble green helmets scattered around the room. If the Slayer perishes in combat, he will reappear where he died if he has free lives rather than restarting at the nearest checkpoint.
There will also be a new multiplayer mode, called "Invasion", in which players can participate in other single-player campaigns, fighting them like demons in a similar way to the Dark Souls franchise. Anyone who wants to play alone or without this additional challenge can disable this mode.
