HBO Max Highlights Dramatic Half-Hour Serial Production
HBO Max illuminated the half-hour drama Generation, which marks the first serpentine pilot to receive a full order in the series. The series is created by Zelda Barnz, 18, and her father Daniel Barnz, who also directs.
Executive produced by Lena Dunham and Ben Barnz, Generation is a dark but fun half-hour series that follows a group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and everything) tests deep-seated beliefs about life, the love and the nature of the family in its conservative community.

The cast of the generation includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Bad Nava, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Sam Trammell, Chase Sui Wonders with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton.
"Daniel and Zelda are an incredibly passionate team with true vision and authenticity, providing an insight into the windy path that many teens have to go through in coming to terms with their generation identity and sexuality," said Sarah Aubrey, chief content officer original at HBO Max.
“Zelda has a particular ability to talk to and about her generation with humor and ease of relationship, only brought to life by this amazing cast. We couldn't be more proud of a program to mark our first pilot to order series for HBO Max, ”added Kevin Reilly, HBO Max content director and president of TBS, TNT and TruTV.
“I wanted to see myself and children my age represented on TV in a way that seemed real, without judgment or nostalgia. I am very grateful to my mentor and soul sister Lena Dunham for all their support and guidance and I am very grateful to HBO Max for making this crazy dream come true, ”said Zelda Barnz.
