“Writing the second series of Hidden was a great opportunity to visit one of these small towns and examine a complex cultural and socioeconomic scenario,” explains series writer Caryl Lewis. “The three young men bounce off the plot and commit what appears to be a meaningless act of violence. We continue with the formula of & # 39; why do it & # 39; again this season in order to spend time with our three characters and delve deeper into their worlds. Among other things, we address the lack of agency among young people; poverty, neglect, political apathy and abuse, and reflect on the fact that perhaps, in a way, we all share the blame as a society for the results of these problems. "
Lewis adds: “Hidden is not meant to be an easy watch. Sometimes it pushes us into difficult spaces. Hidden is about lighting dark places. Preparing and trying not to judge. It is an exercise in understanding and compassion and, ultimately, because of that, a drive for hope. "
