Jerusalem Lot: Adrien Brody will star in Epix's new Stephen King series

Variety announces that Epix has officially serialized a new serial adaptation of Jerusalem's Lot, based on the short horror story of acclaimed author Stephen King, named after Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody (The Pianist) ) series as Captain Charles Boone. This series will be Brody's latest TV project since it appeared on six episodes of Peaky Blinders in 2017.

"This series is an intense and utterly terrifying reimagination of classic Gothic horror," Epix President Michael Wright said in a statement. “We can't wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody… and, of course, when it comes to horror, it's no better or more masterful than Stephen King. We are thrilled to be home to this amazing show. "

Set in the 1850s, Jerusalem's Lot will follow the story of Captain Charles Boone, who moves his family of three to his ancestral home in the small and seemingly sleepy town of Preacher's Corners, Maine, after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to face the secrets of his family's sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

The tale was part of the King's Night Shift collection, which was first published in 1978. Jerusalem's Lot has long been a popular spot in most of King's novels and was introduced in King's 1975 novel, Salem's. 39; s Lot. In previous interviews, the legendary horror writer had revealed that Lot of Jerusalem was truly inspired by his old hometown, Durham, Maine.

The adaptation of the series is produced by Donald De Line (Ready Player One), Jason Filardi and Peter Filardi, with the latter two also acting as showrunners. Production is scheduled to begin in May 2020 and the network plans to launch the series in the fall of 2020.
