Michael B. Jordan's Raising Dion to Renew for Netflix Season Two
The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that Raising Dion has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. The drama of the superhero family is produced by Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed), who also repeats in the series, starring Alisha Wainwright and Ja & # 39; Siah Young.
Production of the second season of eight episodes is scheduled to begin this year. The return date of the program has not yet been decided.

Raising Dion follows the story of a woman named Nicole Reese, who raises her son Dion after the death of her husband Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a child as a single mother are amplified when Dion begins to manifest various superhero-like magical abilities. Nicole must now keep her son's gifts a secret with the help of Mark's best friend, Pat, and protect Dion from antagonists to exploit him while discovering the source of his abilities.
The series stars newcomer Ja & # 39; Siah Young as a 7-year-old super-powerful boy Dion Reese and Alisha Wainwright (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) as Nicole Reese, a former professional dancer who gave up on raising her son Dion when she husband Mark died. Raising Dion is based on the commercial and music director Dennis Liu's short and comic film. Carol Barbee (Judging Amy, Jericho, Touch) acts as showrunner / executive producer.
