Horizon Zero Dawn is an exclusive Playstation that now passes to the PC. What requirements are needed?

The PC hardware requirements for running Horizon Zero Dawn have been revealed … and they are in line with other games that move from the console to the PC. The requirements on the PC end up being higher than what is the console hardware.

Thus, for the minimum quality level, the game asks:

Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K@3.3GHz or an AMD FX 6300@3.5GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
DirectX: Version 12
Disk: 100 GB available space

As you can see the CPU is superior to Jaguar (even with 8 cores, Jaguar is about 50% slower than AMD’s FX range). The GPU is also overwhelmingly superior, being even superior to the PS4 Pro in terms of Tflops.

But for the recommended requirements, it goes up even further.

Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K@3.5GHzour Ryzen 5 1500X@3.5GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
DirectX: Version 12
Disk: 100 GB available space

Of course, we don’t know which category the PS4 version of the game falls into the level of detail. It can be equal to the minimum, it can be equal to the maximum, or it can be somewhere in between. And in that sense we brought the two extremes, which allows us to see that whatever it is, it is superior to the console hardware, which shows how their optimizations and APIs allow to work miracles.
