Garant, Kenney and Lennon will return to write and star in the show's new season, which parodies the popular Cops series and follows the misadventures of a group of deputies working for the Reno Sheriff's Department.
“Reno 911! occupies a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to reunite the original cast of 're-boot goofin' ”Said Lennon. “I hope Nick Swardson can still skate. Kibi's short form looks tailored to our program. "
The classic comedy series featured non-scripted dialogues, with the cast relying heavily on improvisation. A film adaptation, Reno 911!: Miami, was released in 2007, grossing over $ 22 million at the world box office with a budget of $ 10 million.
Additional cast will be announced later. Artists First's Peter Principato will serve as executive producer alongside Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Jersey Television. Comedy Central's new studio production arm, Comedy Central Productions, will produce Season 7 for Kibi.
