Rise of Skywalker editor debunks recycled final shot theory
After a Twitter user recently came up with a theory that the final Star Wars scene: The Rise of Skywalker appeared to be a reprinted scene at the beginning of the movie, when Rey was on the desert planet Pasaana, one of the film's publishers, Maryann. Brandon demystified the theory and explained how the final shot in Tattooine was actually captured (via ComicBook.com)
"This photo was taken in the desert, where they filmed the sequence in Pasaana, but it was made for this photo," said Brandon. "It was filmed specifically for that, and then ILM created a lot of this movie, so that's a question for Roger Guyett and the ILM artists, how they created it. I got the picture of Rey, who I know was filmed. in the same desert. It wasn't in the movie yet, it was for that sequence. "
