Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker takes $ 90 million on Friday
After receiving an impressive $ 40 million in its Thursday night debut, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker saw a strong Friday at the box office, with just over $ 90 million domestically, putting him on track to earn $ 193.7 million over the weekend, putting him behind The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
Although the distance is below its predecessors, it still puts it on the road to box office success and makes it the third best home opening for a Lucastilm project since Disney's acquisition of the production banner.

Cast members returning to The Rise of Skywalker include Daisy RidleyAdam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong & # 39; Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Billie Lourd. Joining the cast are Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. In addition to directing, Abrams co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio (Argo, Justice League). Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan and Abrams will produce, with Callum Greene and Jason McGatlin as executive producer. Composer John Williams, who has marked every chapter in the 1977 Star Wars saga since The New Hope, will return to a galaxy far away from Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is slated for release December 20.
