Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Expected to Open at $ 200 Million
It's less than a month from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and with many fans excited about the closing of the franchise-making Skywalker Saga box office predictions have begun to arrive. The threequel is expected to raise $ 175-205 million over the opening weekend, according to Deadline.
While estimates for the opening weekend are less than $ 220 million from The Last Jedi, this sequence also saw a declining return compared to The Force Awakens, which debuted at $ 247.9 million. The real hurdles the movie will face over the opening weekend will be stiff competition from Jumanji: The Next Level, which is also seeking a strong debut and whose predecessor went against Jedi and grossed over $ 962 million.
