"I never felt like seeing an AT-ST really be as scary as possible because of its stature and power," said Howard. "I was thinking first: 'What is the scenario where there is a village of people and there are some monsters in the woods?' And not knowing exactly what that monster is, but it is a threat."
Right now, Howard is focusing on his career as a director. In the past she has starred in many films including Jurassic World 2015 and its sequel Fallen Kingdom.
Howard then revealed that the Jurassic reference is not the only tribute he paid to some of his earlier work.
"There's a shot behind Omera (Julia Jones) and Mando (Pedro Pascal) when they're looking at the kids when they're inside the house," she explained. “We did French overs overs for that, which is a small tribute to a scene I had with Joaquin Phoenix in The Village. And so, of course, with all the AT-ST stuff, Jurassic is definitely a great reference for that – when you run away from a nearby monster and this monster is ten meters tall. "
